Growth and internationalisation

The TEAM FINLAND network provides advice and funding for growth and internationalisation. TEAM FINLAND is coordinated regionally by the local Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centre). The network includes the internationalisation advisory services, financing services and international networks of Business Finland, the ELY Centre, Finnvera, the TE Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Business Finland (businessfinland.fi) provides funding, grants and loans for internationalisation, research, product development and a wide range of business development needs, with a particular focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. Large companies and research organisations can receive funding for joint projects with SMEs.

The foreign network of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Business Finland also maintains the Export Market Opportunities (marketopportunities.fi) website, where foreign offices publish details of business opportunities as well as other information for Finnish companies.

Finnvera (finnvera.fi) provides financing for the start, growth and internationalisation of enterprises and for protection against export risk. It strengthens the operating potential and competitiveness of Finnish enterprises by providing loans, guarantees and export credit guarantees. The risks included in financing are shared between Finnvera and other providers of financing.

Growth Channel (Kasvuväylä) development service to support business growth

The Growth Channel is a free expert service for companies provided by the Uusimaa TE Office. Growth Channel experts help growth-oriented companies with their business development needs and provide advice on different options for supporting company development. The Growth Channel can be of assistance, for example, when the company needs extra skilled labour, when there are upcoming changes that will require new skills, or when the company needs funding for a development project.

If your company is growing or facing significant changes, or if you are looking for expert help with business development, the Growth Channel is the right place to visit. The expert services provided are aimed at entrepreneurs and companies and can help you move forward whatever your specific business development needs. You receive personal service from the experts, ensuring that you can move forward quickly according to your company’s particular needs. Increasing marketing and exports at different stages of the service path

The service path for internationalisation services is a multi-stage process. It aims to increase interest in internationalisation and initiation of exports. In the second stage of the process, the company is seeking information on internationalisation and how the Team Finland network can help them. The company receives help with its internationalisation plan and strengthens its internationalisation capabilities. This leads to the company developing its business operations, implementing relevant measures and receiving help from the Team Finland services. After initiating international trade and having received help with exports and target markets, the company expands and reshapes its operations by increasing its international business in both its current markets and new ones. The company is also assisted by Team Finland partners abroad and the international networks of Business Finland and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Team Finland (team-finland.fi) brings together all internationalisation services funded by the Finnish government in a single place. Through Team Finland, you can obtain information about markets and market risks, funding for internationalisation, and opportunities to participate in export promotion trips, as well as other forms of connections, information and advice.
